LASH EXTENSIONS FAQs

EYELASH EXTENSIONS

What ARE lash extensions? Each one of your natural lashes will have either a single lash or a lash fan (multiple lashes in one strip) applied, depending on the look you want & the texture/density of your natural lash.

Will It Hurt? Nope-painless!

How long will it take? Full Sets can range from 1.5-2.5 hours, dependent on volume and style chosen.

How long do lash extensions last? This depends on a few factors; how well the lash is applied. Secondly, how well you care for your lashes. If you're rubbing your eyes, wearing mascara, not cleaning, not drying and applying emollients to your lash line, this will break down the adhesive compounds much faster and leave you with poor retention. TYPICALLY, a fill is recommended every 2-3 weeks.

What's a lash fill? If you wish to maintain your lashes, you will come in for an "infill" every 2 weeks, maybe even 3. It is only an infill IF you have AT LEAST 50% of your lash extensions from the previous visit. If it's less than 50%, you will be paying for a new set. Why? More lashes will need to be lashed, which takes longer, more material, etc. You get the picture!

Will it damage my natural lashes? Only if lashes are incorrectly applied. When the lash extension is applied correctly, there is no interruption of the growth cycle. This is why it's important to have a trained professional do your lashes! We have received the proper training and education.

...but what if it my lashes fall off? Our natural lashes, (much like every other hair follicle on our bodies), go through a growth cycle. The average person has between 90-120 lashes on the upper lash line and loses 2-5 natural lashes per day. This is constantly happening; you know how every time you brush you hair, you shed? That's natural! It's your body cycling through anagen, catagen, telogen & exogen phases.

  • The Anagen (Growing) Phase. This is the phase in which the eyelash grows. While it takes about five years for the hairs on your scalp to reach their full length, it only takes 30 to 45 days for your eyelashes to grow to their full length.
  • The Catagen (Regression) Phase. During this phase, the hair follicle inside your upper eyelid releases the hair, meaning the eyelash is no longer attached to the follicle.
  • The Telogen (Resting) Phase. During this phase, the eyelash is no longer growing. In its place, a new eyelash starts to grow from the follicle.
  • The Exogen (Shedding) Phase. As the new eyelash grows out of the hair follicle, the old eyelash fully detaches from your skin and falls out, letting the new eyelash take its place.

Do you offer mink lashes? No-I am a big believer of cruelty-free beauty and thankfully, the lash industry has evolved past the point of needing real mink. The quality of faux-mink lashes is so good, and more affordable, that these are what MOST lash professionals are applying anyway. Unless you specifically request mink, which is no longer that standard, you will receive faux-mink.

Do you sanitize? I sanitize all my tools; brushes, spoolies, etc. are never re-used and out of new packages for each session.

How are you addressing Covid-19?
